Offers 60 Adult education classes at LBCC
GRUNION GAZETTE (January 8, 2009) Gail Schwandner, Dean, Work Force Development, Long Beach City College (LBCC) re ports that are not solely a re source for students preparing to trans fer to a four-year institution. For those seeking to enter, or re-enter, the workforce, up grade their employment skills or make a transition from one career to an other, LBCC offers a variety of professionally geared courses and work shops. The Center for Training and Professional Development has 60 classes that cover topics ranging from small business startup and financial management to event planing and architecture. What the center offers is basically adult education and most attendees are also working either full- or part-time jobs and are looking to up date their skill set or change their career. Be at this week’s meeting to hear a Civic Pride presentation on this unique pro gram. (Grunion Gazette 1/8)
